After winning the Impact Knockouts Championship, almost three months ago, Deonna Purrazzo is booked to go through her next title defense. This will happen at Impact Slammiversary 2023, later this month as she goes up against former two-time WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion Naomi who arrived on Impact TV just a few weeks.
Soon after arriving on Impact TV, Naomi quickly turned her attention to the champion. Then during the June 1 episode of Impact on AXS TV episode, the former WWE Superstar, real name, Trinity called out Deonna Purrazzo following her victory over Savannah Evans to have a dance in the ring.
In response after being challenged to a title match at Slammiversary 2023, Deonna Purrazzo had no hesitation in the acceptance. But now, there are speculations of her dropping the title to the former champion at the upcoming PPV.

Deonna Purrazzo talks about the responsibilities of being a champion
Deonna Purrazzo then continued the talk by saying that there’s going to be a lot of people watching her match and as the Knockouts Champion, she needs more people to talk about it. Also, being the face of the Impact Knockout division, it will be her duty to deliver a buzz-worthy match that people would want to talk about for months to follow,
“We have a lot of women that work very hard and want to carry this division to new heights, and if Trinity, she’s the champion and can get the best of me and defeat me I can’t complain about that. I think I’ve gotten to a point in Impact where … I’m a three-time champion, so I’ve lost it twice at this point, champion or not, I’m one of the faces of our company, and I’m really grateful for that.” (quotes courtesy Wrestling INC)
Back in mid-April, Impact Wrestling held its Rebellion pay-per-view and in the main event of the same, former Knockouts World Champions Deonna Purrazzo and Jordynne Grace battled it out for the vacant championship belt. Then it was the former WWE NXT Superstar who would walk away with the win to become a three-time champion with the same title.
