Impact Wrestling promotion has been heavily promoting the 1000th episode under their banner with the Impact 1000 tagline. Multiple bigger names and matches have been booked for the upcoming episode scheduled to take place on September 9, 2023, at the Westchester County Center in White Plains, New York.
One of those segments from Impact 1000 will feature Seven-time IMPACT Knockouts Champion and a bonafide Hall of Famer from the promotion Gail Kim who will be seen in action for the first time in years.
In a promo shared for Impact 1000, Kim confirmed that she will be coming out of retirement for this particular night show, where she will team up with Awesome Kong, another returnee for the special occasion. While mentioning Kong her greatest rival, Kim noted how this show will be a perfect time to celebrate the IMPACT Knockouts division. An open challenge was made to the past and present of the Knockouts division.

Kim is a seven-time Knockouts Champion which is a record in Impact. She is also the inaugural Knockouts Champion, having won the title in 2007 and she’s gone on to become the longest-reigning champion cumulatively. The former WWE Superstar is also a former IMPACT Knockouts Tag Team Champion, PWI’s Number-One female wrestler in the world in 2012, and the first female inductee into the IMPACT Hall of Fame in 2016.
Apart from Kim’s appearance, The Beautiful People – the duo of Angelina Love and Velvet Sky will return at Impact 1000, possibly to compete as a tandem. A Reunion of Legends will be seen when Team 3D, featuring Bully Ray and Devon reappears to rekindle nostalgia among fans. Also, a massive Championship vs. Career match has been announced featuring a hardcore legend to be the main event.
