There has been a ton of speculations regarding the next destination for Sasha Banks after she and Naomi walked out of the WWE, last May. This happened out of creative frustrations with Vince McMahon being in charge of things. After Triple H took back the charges, he tried to solve the situation but it was too late, by then.
Sasha Banks has since joined and become a champion at New Japan Pro Wrestling. Now that Impact Wrestling’s Slammiversary pay-per-view is scheduled to go down, this weekend, Sasha Banks is the reported name to be backstage for the show. Obviously, she will be appearing under her current ring name Mercedes Mone.

Sasha Banks won’t appear on TV at Impact Slammiversary 2023
“Mercedes Mone aka the former Sasha Banks is expected to be in attendance at tomorrow’s Slammiversary PPV in Windsor, Ontario, PWInsider.com has confirmed. The belief among those we’ve spoken with is that Mone is coming to the event in support of Trinity and would not likely be appearing on camera,” The source offered in their report regarding the former WWE talent.
“Mone and WWE’s Tamina were in attendance when Trinity debuted for the promotion, while Trinity and Bayley traveled to New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Wrestle Kingdom in Tokyo to be there for Mone when she made her first appearance for the company.”
Since leaving WWE in 2022, Sasha Banks has wrestled in five overall matches. In the first one, she became the IWGP Women’s Champion, earlier this year in January. Unfortunately, in the fifth match, Willow Nightingale defeated her to become the inaugural NJPW Strong Women’s Champion.
Originally, the title was created to keep the former Sasha Banks as the NJPW Strong Women’s Champion but she ended up suffering an ankle injury in that match that forced the plans to be changed as Nightingale was able to pick up her maiden championship of pro-wrestling career.
