WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler’s car faced an accident this weekend while he was driving with his girlfriend Lauryn.

Latest updates are saying that Jerry was able to come out of the car unhurt whereas his girlfriend was not as lucky as she had to spend 4 hours in the emergency of a nearby hospital before being discharged.

Jerry himself has confirmed about the incident and stated in twitter that he was fortunate to escape unhurt but his car was not. He gave some images which show his car in the pretty banged up state.

‘The King’ commented further that it was not his fault as the driver of the other car who collided with him jumped a red signal. Although he himself did not suffer many injuries, his girlfriend suffered a banged up knee and a swollen face.

His well being gave a huge relief to the pro-wrestling community as a whole because of the legend he is. It is not known yet that if he will be available for this week’s Smackdown or not as he is likely to be at home with his girlfriend.

Here is Jerry’s official statement:

“I’m fine, but Lauryn is pretty banged up. We had taken care of the trick-or-treaters and went for pizza right near the house. We were coming home to catch the end of the University of Memphis game. I was sitting at a red light at a busy intersection not a minute from my house.”

“I got the green arrow to make a left turn. I started making the turn and I saw the car coming, not slowing down at all. The driver ran a red light.”

“Lauryn was in the ER for four hours. Her face is really, really swollen on the left side. They also put her in a leg brace and knee immobilizer. I think she has a concussion because this morning when she got up, she fell down and saw stars and black spots.”
