There’s a very few in the WWE who have had their ups and down in the company like Lacey Evans over the past few years. Initially debuted as one of the future bonafide superstars who received a championship opportunity in her debut match and went on to be a jobber as days progressed due to WWE’s lack of creative planning around her.
Despite all the negative surrounding, Lacey Evans managed to drag attention toward herself all by herself and that was the case during her latest TV appearance on Smackdown, as well. Ever since the heel Smackdown Superstar appeared dressing as Sgt. Slaughter, the internet just couldn’t resist talking about her.

The conversation continued this week and the WWE Hall of Famer did not appreciate the WWE Superstar mimicking her new gimmick. After he openly made his feelings known, it was thought that Lacey Evans could be dealing with a negative situation in the locker room which isn’t the case.
Lacey Evans is having no heat from WWE due to Sgt. Slaughter’s recent comments
Ringside News reached out to a tenured member of WWE’s creative team and they wanted to know more about the whole Sgt Slaughter controversy, and whether it is being positively perceived within the company. They indeed learned something positive meaning that there’s no heat on the current WWE Superstar,
“Lacey Evans and Sgt Slaughter were involved in a bit of controversy over the last week when the WWE Hall of Famer called her out for jacking her gimmick,” Steve Carrier of Ringside News mentioned.
“We are told that there is no heat on Lacey Evans at all. If anything, Slaughter isn’t being looked at too favorably within WWE.”
Lacey had failed attempts to mimick Sgt. Slaughter
Before joining the WWE as a superstar, The Lady of the company used to serve as a military police officer in the Marines. During her 2022 return, she decided to introduce this as her new gimmick that was inspired by her past career in real life. This was the reason that fans drew similarities with WWE Legend Sgt. Slaughter with her since then.
Due to this, WWE also went on to propose that Sgt. Slaughter might manage Evans and the WWE Hall of Famer was also onboard to do the job on the condition that Evans goes through his boot camp. Following this, the former NXT Star also has been seen using the WWE Legend’s signature Cobra Clutch which was probably approved by Slaughter but that may not be the case.
