Becky Lynch is with the WWE for over a decade and she’s been part of multiple Money in the Bank ladder matches in her career. Unfortunately, she never had the opportunity to hold that briefcase and that’s one box that is yet to be ticked in her illustrious career. Speaking in an interview following WWE Raw, she expressed disappointment over the fact.
At the same time, Becky Lynch seems hopeful about achieving the accolade this year since she’s officially punched the ticket to the 2023 Money in the Bank ladder match on this week’s Raw. Following her win in the scheduled qualifier match against Sonya Deville, The Man appeared in a conversation on WWE Raw exclusive where she had a lot to offer.
WWE Smackdown: Historic Bloodline Segment Announced For June 9 Episode
Money in the Bank 2023 will mark Becky Lynch’s first WWE UK PLE outing
First and foremost, Becky Lynch mentioned how Money in the Bank is going to be her first PPV appearance in the United Kingdom since she missed last September’s Clash at the Castle from Cardiff. Then she admitted to being haunted by the fact that she never won a Money In The Bank match in her WWE career.
“Every ladder match that I’ve been in, I’ve been the last person on that ladder, holding the briefcase. It has always been in my fingertips, but it’s always slipped away from me. So that’s haunted me,” Becky Lynch continued.
“It’s the one thing that I have left to do. It’s the one thing that I can do to feel like my career has been complete. The icing on the cake there is that if Zoey Stark gets into this match, then I get to beat her up with ladders.”
Becky Lynch defeated Sonya Deville to qualify for Money in the Bank
As seen on the June 5 episode of Raw, Becky Lynch competed against Sonya Deville in one of the qualifying matches for Money in the Bank 2023. The numbers’ game was stacked against her heading into the match as she also had to deal with Deville’s cohort Chelsea Green who was trying to provide distraction. If that wasn’t enough, then Lynch’s current rival Trish Stratus, along with Zoey Stark appeared on the entrance stage during the match for more distractions.
But being the warrior that she is, Becky Lynch downed Green at ringside and then planted Deville with The Manhandle Slam to get the pinfall win. With this win, she has now joined the fray that includes Zelina Vega and Zoey Stark as the 2023 Money in the Bank ladder match participants.
