John Cena has become a part-time performer in the WWE for the past few years who only comes back for special occasions. Last time, it happened around Summerslam 2021 as he featured in the main event match. This was his only televised match from the last bygone stint after which he headed into film shooting.
With Wrestlemania 38 barely three months away in the WWE schedule, speculations are high that John Cena will be there for the show slated in Dallas. But it appears that it’s unlikely that the former franchise figure of the company will make it to the show.

During an appearance on The Ellen Show, the WWE Legend John Cena was asked if he’ll return to WWE for WrestleMania and he came up with a negative response,
“WrestleMania is usually in the cusp of late March, early April. I don’t know if I’m going to make it this year.
And that’s a good conundrum to have because there’s a lot of good opportunity coming up, which I would love to take and if all those things line up, I don’t know if I’ll be able to make WrestleMania.”

John Cena isn’t done with his WWE career
The good thing is that John Cena is not done with his WWE stint in a long shot despite his busy schedule. So, sooner or later, he will be back in the game whenever he can free up his schedule. Check out more of his comments from the latest appearance,
“But I will tell you and everybody watching, I’m not done with WWE by a long shot. That’s my home, I love it.
I was able to go back during the summer for a few months and entertain audiences when they welcomed audiences back to arenas, so I’m far from my last performance.”
As noted above, John Cena lost to Universal Champion Roman Reigns in the main event of SummerSlam 2021 which was a way to write him off WWE storylines. The 16-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion made his last appearance in WWE on September 10, 2021, at Madison Square Garden, where he teamed up with The Mysterios (Dominik and Rey Mysterio) to defeat The Bloodline (Roman Reigns and The Usos) in the dark main event after SmackDown tapings were over.
As for Wrestlemania, John Cena made one last appearance at the Show of Shows in 2020, where he lost to “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt in a Firefly Fun House match.
