John Cena has long been rumored to be one of the names to perform at WWE WrestleMania 39, marking his in-ring return to the Show of Shows after three long years. In addition, the likes of Stone Cold Steve Austin, and The Rock have also been speculated to feature in the biggest premium live event of the year but no surety around the appearance has been received, yet.

With WrestleMania 39 less than two months away in the calendar, it’s recently been reported that The Rock won’t be available for the show as he doesn’t feel like to be in good ring-shape to work a main event match with the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. Plus, Stone Cold Steve Austin has also reportedly turned down matches against Brock Lesnar and Reigns.

That being said, WWE would definitely want John Cena to work at WrestleMania but his acting schedule should keep him away from WWE television heading into the show. If his current schedule is any indication then the majority of the build-up for the match at the Show or Shows won’t feature him on WWE’s weekly programming.

John Cena has started shooting a comedic venture in Australia

According to the reports of Variety, the upcoming R-Rated comedy Ricky Stanicky, starring Zac Efron and John Cena wouldn’t allow the former WWE Champion to return to the WWE as the production is already underway in Melbourne, Australia and it will run through March. The Cenation Leader has already arrived in Australia just this week to start filming the movie shoot, as informed by the source,

“Peter Farrelly, director of Oscar winning film “Green Book,” will start production of his long awaited “Ricky Stanicky” next month. The picture will shoot in Melbourne, Australia where the film’s two stars Zac Efron and John Cena have now arrived.”

WrestleMania 39 is scheduled for April 1 & 2 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, California and hence this filming schedule shouldn’t prevent John Cena from working the show. Being a superhuman, it’s possible that he can compete in a match on short notice. Besides he reportedly had already filmed segments that WWE can feed into TV to begin the storyline planned around him. At this point, rumors suggest that United States Champion Austin Theory is going to be his opponent.
