WWE is a pro when it comes to throwing celebrations for its larger-than-life superstars and John Cena would be no different. After all, he’s the longest-running franchise player of the company whose contributions are way bigger than his contemporaries. Hence, when the occasion calls, Vince McMahon and Co will be happy to celebrate his career.

On June 27, 2002, the arrival of John Cena took place on WWE TV. The young gun proceeded to answer WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle’s open challenge to possibly lay the foundation of the Ruthless Aggression Era. Although Cena lost that night, he left a long-lasting impression on the crowd as well as the locker room members. Even The Undertaker congratulated him for standing up to a former world champion in Kurt Angle.

As part of the announcement, WWE also asked fans to keep their eyes glued for brand-new episodes of WWE Playback that will feature John Cena going in detail on his debut match against Angle, a Cena-themed edition of WWE Top 10 and WWE Playlist. Plus, a bunch of rare and never-before-seen photos and classic videos will also be released in the coming days.

Rumors are there that John Cena might just appear on WWE TV in person to make the celebration, even bigger but there’s no confirmation on the same. The 16-time world champion did tease his comeback in recent times but it’s tough given his hectic Hollywood schedule.
