This past edition of Smackdown Live has witnessed a unique babyface turn from Kevin Owens. He went on a rant against the authority figures, Shane McMahon to be particular. It was much similar to that of a pipe-bomb kind of incident from CM Punk earning the attention of the pro-wrestling circuit.

Is WWE Planning The Undertaker Vs. Sting Dream Match?
Kevin Owens took names of several WWE superstars who are getting less screen presence that was actually a real backstage problem going on. Criticizing their own product was something unreal from WWE’s perspective that occurred for a sole reason and that’s to give a push to Kevin Owens.

The Canadian superstar was looking forward to changing his characteristics for quite sometimes and WWE may have approved it in a big way. Reports from Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter confirmed the same. It suggested that WWE will turn Kevin Owens into the new generation’s Stone Cold Steve Austin.
Kofi Kingston Injured, Extreme Rules Title Match Cancelled?
Mannerisms and the outspoken behavior of the former Universal Champion would be suitable enough to play this character and thereby earn huge popularity among the WWE Universe. Plus, he could act as a perfect anti-authority figure who will eventually shorten Shane McMahon’s on-screen presence.
As reported by wrestling news.co, WWE was well-aware of the fan backlash for WWE’s push towards Shane-o-mac. Kevin Owens transitioning into a babyface may put an end to this,
“The declining ratings have forced Vince McMahon to ask for more input on the product and he’s listening to the criticism more than ever. They have also done surveys to figure out what people do and don’t like about the shows. The Kevin Owens promo on Tuesday night is supposed to be the start of a storyline to phase out Shane McMahon from weekly storylines.”
WWE brought back Kevin Owens from an injury as a babyface back in March 2019 that lasted for barely a month. The sudden injury of Daniel Bryan forced the creative team to come up with a separate plan where Owens turned heel, yet again. The stint is coming to a quicker end as the creative thought of creating another top babyface on Smackdown beside the WWE Champion, Kofi Kingston.
