After WWE rehired Zelina Vega in the spring of 2021, she took the least time to make an entry back to the WWE roster and make an impact. Within a few months, she became the inaugural Queen’s Crown tournament winner to become the first-ever official Queen of the WWE.
Moving on, Zelina Vega had a solid start to 2022 as one-half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions alongside Carmella but soon after the duo lost the title at WrestleMania 38, Vega disappeared from television. While nothing, in particular, was disclosed about the absence, the belief was that a minor injury could have been the reason.

Zelina Vega once suffered a ruptured breast on Smackdown
Speaking on Out of Character with Ryan Satin, Zelina Vega has now revealed the real reason which kept her out of action for the first time in her WWE career was caused due to a ruptured breast implant. This happened during a match with one of her besties on the roster, Rhea Ripley,
“I actually hadn’t had any serious injuries until that point. It wasn’t even really that bad. This is silly, but one of my best friends and I were in a match, and she had given me this one called a Northern Lights Suplex, where basically she kind of flips me over her backwards, and her shoulder went into my chest, and I ruptured an implant.”

Moving in during the conversation, Zelina Vega rather focused on the bright side of the unfortunate happening. She admittedly wanted to get those breast implants bigger and once the previous 10-year-long implants got ruptured, she decided to get new ones which also made her husband (former WWE Superstar Aleister Black) happy,
“But me, of course, looking on the bright side, I was like, well they are 10 years old anyway, and I kind of wanted them bigger anyway. So it ended up working out. Lately I’m like, ‘I should have gone a little bigger, I don’t know,’ [laughs] why not?’ They’re better than ever,’ and everyone’s happy. My husband’s happy, everyone’s happy. So yeah, it worked out.”

Zelina Vega then made her comeback to the WWE screen in October 2022 where she joined Legado del Fantasma (Santos Escobar, Joaquin Wilde, and Cruz del Toro) on SmackDown. The first-ever Queen’s Crown winner then also returned to the ring as a part of the 2023 women’s Royal Rumble match. Plus, she had also secured a title match at Backlash in front of her home country fans of Puerto Rico.
