WWE Backlash 2023 followed by King and Queen of the Ring 2023 will be two back-to-back international premium live events in the WWE calendar following Wrestlemania 39.

As confirmed by the WWE, the 2023 edition of Backlash will be held in San Juan, Puerto Rico at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot, on Saturday, May 6 while King and Queen of the Ring 2023 will emanate from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, marking WWE’s return to the middle-east country.

The Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns is rumored to attend both events as the potential headliner which makes us believe that he won’t be on a hiatus after his scheduled title defense at Wrestlemania 39 against Cody Rhodes.

If Roman Reigns manages to retain his Title at both WrestleMania and Backlash, then he will complete 1,000 days as champion on May 27th. This falls on the same date as the King and Queen of the Ring PLE in Saudi Arabia which calls for a grand celebration.

According to The Wrestling Blog, Roman Reigns is scheduled to travel to Saudi Arabia for this event, but he will not compete in a match on that night. WWE might likely hold a special ceremony around him at King and Queen of the Ring 2023. These predictions fall in line with the current reports which suggest that The Tribal Chief isn’t going to lose his undisputed title at WrestleMania Hollywood.

WWE Draft 2023 installment is also reportedly scheduled to go down in May between Backlash & King and Queen of the Ring 2023. This keeps the rumor alive of WWE finally splitting up the two titles while being on the shoulder of Roman Reigns.
