Years passed by but the misfortune for Lacey Evans didn’t tend to change in the WWE despite the fact that she was able to garner reactions from the fans. A couple of months ago, the former Mariner drew a lot of attention to herself by copying Sgt. Slaughter’s look. However, Sgt. Slaughter’s daughter threw several shots for being a cheap copy of her Hall of Famer father.
Of course, Lacey Evans didn’t let go of Sgt. Slaughter’s daughter, that easily as she fired back at full force but at the same time she showed respect to the veteran old school star. WWE eventually left that angle for drawing negative attention and sadly, it didn’t earn any push for the woman who once served USA as a marine.
During a recent interview on WrestleBinge, Slaughter pointed out a few aspects of Lacey Evans’ on-screen character which resembled selling s*x in WWE for her revealing outfits which flash a lot of cleavage. Sarge also didn’t seem to be okay with her using his pendant Cobra Clutch finisher without asking him first, which is apparently a mandatory clause in the world of professional wrestling.

Sgt. Slaughter doesn’t have respect for Lacey Evans’ ring gear
“She’s got her outfit on and showing a lot of cleavage. To me, that’s selling s*x. That’s not selling that you’re a tough S.O.B. from the Marine Corps. She should have a t-shirt on and have the combat boots on and have those fatigues on if you want to emulate Sgt. Slaughter,” Sarge also proceeded to throw a bit of praise on Lacey Evans,
“They got plenty of other ladies out there that are the s*x symbols. Lacey’s a beautiful woman, and I like Lacey a lot. I got to know her briefly, and I always admired her and respect her because she did serve in the marine corps.” (quotes courtesy WWFOldSchool)
Lacey Evans was signed to the WWE in 2016
Lacey Evans first debuted in the WWE in 2016 by appearing on the NXT brand. Ever since her debut, she was featured prominently on the black and gold brand and got the call to the main roster within three years. She was never the NXT Women’s Champion but WWE did see a ton of potential to be successful on Raw or Smackdown. However, her main roster stint turned out to be a failure after the initial three months starting from Wrestlemania 39.
Random character changes can be diagnosed as one of the biggest causes behind Lacey Evans’ character’s failure. WWE switched her to both babyface and heel to make experiments with her which eventually turned her into a jobber. No wonder, why she keeps on vanishing from WWE TV after digesting a couple of losses all the time.
