One of the most discussed moments from this year’s All Out pay-per-view came when CJ Perry Fka Lana debuted on All Elite Wrestling for the very first time. As always, she stirred things up in a controversial manner during her appearance. Also, Tony Khan’s creative team did a tremendous job by keeping the debut a big secret.
It’s tough to keep things hidden in the age of social media. But just like Saraya’s debut, last summer, AEW managed to pull off a big surprise while bringing Lana under their banner. The big question is what’s next for her and in what role the company wants her to utilize. Apparently, the debut happened all of a sudden and the AEW creative team is yet to figure things out.
It was previously reported that AEW hasn’t signed Lana to a long-term deal yet but that won’t stop her from making a few appearances on TV including Collision, this weekend. Sean Sapp now gave updates behind Fightful’s paywall that AEW was able to make a deal with the former WWE Superstar just before AEW All Out appearance “in the week” of the event.

They were eventually able to bring everything together in time but due to the quick execution of the angle on the TV, they’re yet to characterize the on-screen figure,
“Lana/CJ Perry’s deal came together in the week or so prior to AEW All Out, we’re told. We’re not even sure a name has been decided as of yet.”
Lana saved Miro from his opponent at AEW All Out 2023
At All Out 2023, Miro went up against Powerhouse Hobbs in a singles contest and picked up the win. After the match was over, Hobbs went to show respect to Miro but he ended up attacking Miro from behind. This led to Lana, Miro’s real-life wife coming out on the ramp. The distraction helped Miro to capitalize but he eventually left his wife in the ring.
With this, it’s safe to say that another tumultuous saga between the real-life couple will unfold on AEW TV just like they previously had in the WWE. Lana or CJ Perry has a ton of fans on social media who will be eager to know what’s next for her in AEW. Tony Khan knows this, and that could be the sole reason behind signing the controversial Diva in the first place.
