One of the most popular and controversial storylines in the history of WWE featured Edge, Lita, and Matt Hardy in a love triangle. A Raw romantic storyline unfolded on WWE TV to elevate the status of Edge in WWE while Matt Hardy found his way out of the company. Emotions were running so high during the angle that it was hard to distinguish the barriers with the reel to real life.
Storylines in pro wrestling could become very unpredictable at times when real-life situations play a big role on TV. This was one of those occasions when Lita legit cheated on Matt Hardy in real life with Edge. That personal animosity was shown on TV as part of the storyline which helped the new couple to become two of the most disgusting people on TV.

More than 15 years have passed on since that angle and everybody has moved on with their personal life. Both Edge and Matt Hardy have become fathers with Beth Phoenix and Reby Hardy, respectively while Lita is busy with her own things. Lita has problems with people judging her love life
While speaking on Oral Sessions with Renee Paquette, the WWE Hall of Famer revealed that she still faces a lot of backlash on social media over what happened with Edge, Matt Hardy, years ago. She also noted that the male characters were never questioned for their roles while she does receive a lot of hate for her character-playing.
“It’s still talked about. My relationships are commented on a regular basis, on my Instagram still or social media. Meanwhile, all of the men involved, you know, anything not controversial like with [CM] Punk or Edge or Matt, I guarantee they don’t get asked about it. I know they don’t get asked about it because they’re dudes, and, you know, it’s that double standard thing. I think at this point that’s the problem; what I hold onto, feeling the double standard,” Lita stated. (quotes courtesy Wrestling INC)
As you can see, the effect of that Edge and Lita storyline still has an effect on the latter name even at a time when she is no more under active contract with the company. She went ahead to have relations with the likes of Punk but the one with Edge is still being talked about.
