It’s safe to say that Liv Morgan had the best night at WWE Money in the Bank 2022 premium live event. After waiting to get to the top in the WWE for almost six years, the company finally pulled the plug and made her a champion. Prior to that, she also retrieved the Money in the Bank briefcase in the opening match of the PLE.

This Liv Morgan is definitely not that version of the Riott Squad when she was barely a tag team match competitor alongside Ruby Riott and Sarah Logan. The young lady has managed to keep her position, intact in the company while her two former partners are gone. Additionally, she has also become a trusted shoulder in the WWE.

This is the reason that Liv Morgan won the Money In The Bank ladder match and then cashed in the contract on Ronda Rousey on the very same night to become the new Smackdown Women’s Champion. She is the third only superstar in WWE history to pin the UFC Hall of Famer after Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch. Besides, she has also set another milestone in a different way.

Liv Morgan set quite a unique record at Money in the Bank

As pointed out by Reddit user u/damng1, Liv Morgan’s victory was the first time since August 2017 that a new SmackDown Women’s Champion was crowned in a match where one of the Four Horsewomen in the WWE wasn’t involved somehow.

Back at Summerslam of that year, Natalya defeated Naomi to win the blue brand title after which each of the four horsewomen was related to this particular strap. Morgan vs. Rousey was the first-time lineup in almost five years that a Smackdown Women’s Title match didn’t feature Charlotte/Becky/Bayley/Sasha Banks in it.

For the time being, Liv Morgan will enjoy her days as the reigning champion. But reports suggest that she will have to face Ronda Rousey over the Smackdown Women’s Title at Summerslam in a rematch. That night could very likely be marking the end of her title reign, going by the sources.

However, Liv Morgan is happy with the fact that she can call herself a champion, after all, as stated in an interview with WWE.com,

“This is like, the feeling I’ve been searching for my whole entire life. This is all I’ve ever – oh my gosh – this is all I’ve ever wanted. This is all I’ve ever wanted since I was a little girl and I literally can’t believe I have it … It was amazing, it was everything. I did this for [the WWE fans].”
