The majority of WWE fans are complaining that there are not titles in the promotion that could provide more opportunities to the wrestlers that are not getting enough opportunities. One or a couple of new Championships would definitely provide more opportunities to the wrestlers of the roster.
But rather than bringing new championships, WWE is cutting off existing championships. Last year, they merged their two World championship which was really awful for the rest of the roster as nobody was getting enough opportunities, besides, Roman Reigns did not defend his championship regularly either. But recently, they introduced the new World Heavyweight title for RAW which would provide some opportunities for the rest of the roster.

The World Championships are not the only championship that WWE merged last year. They merged the Tag Team championship too. There might have been a new World championship now, but there is no sign of a new Tag Team championship yet, neither they are splitting the Tag Team championship either. It is really degrading the Tag Team of WWE.
According to the latest report from FightFans, WWE is ‘discussing’ to merge more championships on the main roster. The NXT Women’s Tag Team champions Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre are now on the main roster and they have carried their titles along with them on to the main roster.
The WWE And NXT Women’s Championship Are Rumoured To Get Merged Soon
FightFans understood there are talks of this pair of titles to merge with the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship which is currently being held by Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler. Jake Skudder of Fightfans wrote on the following on this topic;
“One of our sources has indicated that WWE are looking at the potential of a Shayna Baszler and Ronda Rousey vs Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn match to unify all of the Women’s Tag Team Championships in the company right now.
“Rousey/Baszler vs. Alba/Isla in Unification has been discussed internally recently but no word if they going to go through with it yet” is what we were told specifically.” Skudder continued, “As indicated, we do not currently know if the company will go ahead with this, but with Dawn and Alba having recently been called up, it does make sense to put them in a strong angle.”
This would definitely minimize opportunities for the women in the NXT. Last year, it was like WWE was trying to deactivate both WWE and NXT Women’s Tag Team titles after Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out of WWE. Triple H brought both titles back after becoming the Head of Creative. But if the latest reports are true, maybe Triple H is also considering to kill the titles of the NXT’s half too.
