After enjoying a 413-day reign as WWE NXT Women’s Champion, Mandy Rose suddenly became an ex-WWE Superstar in a timespan of just a couple of days. Although no official confirmation on WWE’s part never arrived, the former champion was moved to the alumni section to confirm the big move that led the WWE Universe to a shock as she was one of the main attractions of NXT television.
WWE never confirmed the exact reason behind Mandy Rose’s release but it reportedly happened due to adult content she had been posting on her FanTime paywall. Extreme attention caused her to rack up $500,000 in the week after she was let go. The amount got doubled in the month of December. The amount was way more than what she would have ever earned in her WWE career.
Mandy Rose Admittedly “Felt Comfortable” In A “S*X Symbol Role” In WWE
After staying under the WWE banner, Mandy Rose has opted to stay away from the wrestling business and that norm might continue until and unless she gets a call from WWE’s rival brand, AEW. During an interview with Renee Paquette on The Sessions, the former Golden Goddess spoke about her future in wrestling, and whether she’s interested or not in returning to the ring again.
Mandy Rose has doubts over coming back to professional wrestling
Paquette works for AEW and she questioned Mandy Rose if she’d ever consider working for the brand owned by Tony Khan. In response, the former NXT Women’s Champion said it would be a “nice” experience for her to reunite with her “old schools” in AEW, but at this point, she hasn’t decided whether she genuinely wants to return to the wrestling business or not,
“I haven’t ruled it out for sure, it’s not like the boots are hung up and stuff. It’s just right now, it’s not my main focus but definitely for the future, maybe.”
A couple of AEW talents had prior connections with Rose in WWE
Mandy Rose has a history with several AEW talents in the WWE. She previously teamed up with Dustin Rhodes in WWE’s Mixed Match Challenge to feature in a romantic angle. Plus, she also teamed with Saraya fka as part of the Absolution faction in WWE alongside Sonya Deville.
Since WWE released Mandy Rose, Roxanne Perez has taken things over as the new NXT Women’s Champion, a move that was pitched to the former champion on the day of the title change. Perez then also defeated the former Toxic Attraction partners Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne at NXT Vengeance Day to retain her title. Despite coming up short Rose praised the efforts of her former buddies.
