Mandy Rose became one of the most consistent performers of the NXT 2.0 era since going back to the brand in July 2021. She was regularly producing top-notch acts as a heel champion with The Toxic Attraction members by her side. However, the good times are over as she has now been released from the contract, all of a sudden.
Mandy Rose enjoyed the best run of her career after winning the NXT Women’s Title at Halloween Havoc 2021. Then she lost the title to Iron Survivor Challenge Match winner Roxanne Perez who is just 21 years old during the latest episode of NXT. Unfortunately, the end of the title reign also marked the end of her WWE stint. The good thing is that WWE hasn’t closed the door on her comeback to the company.
WWE Hall Of Famer Is The Reason Behind Mandy Rose’s Sudden Release
To the dismay of most of the WWE Universe, Mandy Rose is gone from the WWE for the time being but fans just can’t stop wondering whether she will be back again given that she was an original WWE product. While speaking on Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez noted gave the interesting update that WWE has not closed the door on a possible return for her in the future.
“I was given the impression that it’s not like she can never come back, and there is a possibility down the road she will come back, but for now she is gone.”
WWE releasing Mandy Rose was a last-minute decision
According to Dave Meltzer on Twitter, Mandy Rose’s WWE release was planned at the very last minute and that being said there could be a reconsideration of things in the near future,
“There’s a lot to the Mandy Rose firing today and the title change last night was a last minute decision based on the fact she was getting fired and not the original plan.”
For those who don’t know, the former Golden Goddess was released from her WWE contract due to the content she was posting behind her premium content paywall. Since WWE previously used their talents to feature on Playboy, some of the fans dragged the company for showing double standards regarding this release.
Before making her exit, Mandy Rose left her mark on the WWE roster by becoming the third-longest Women’s Champion in NXT history, only behind Shayna Baszler (416 days) and Asuka (522 days). She held the bet for 413 days starting from October 2021 to this week.
