One of the top most inventions of the WWE NXT 2.0 era was Mandy Rose who had gone through a career resurgence after remaining without any championship on the main roster for almost four years. Coming back to NXT, she became one of the greatest NXT Women’s Champions of all time by holding on to the title for over 400 days. But she was suddenly released soon after dropping the belt.
To be precise, Mandy Rose was released the very next day after handing over the title to Roxanne Perez but the title drop without any further build led many of the fans to a shocker. To make things worse for them, one of the best reasons to tune into NXT programming was taken away from them, the night after. Losing to Roxanne Perez was indeed a shocker for the ex-WWE Superstar herself.
Mandy Rose Wants To Feature On Dancing With The Stars After WWE Departure
During her latest appearance on The Sessions podcast with Renee Paquette (fka Renee Young), Mandy Rose admitted that dropping the title all of a sudden really caught her off guard. But since she was instructed about the creative change on that day itself, she got the hint of getting released within some time,
“I was making jokes about it the night before. I was literally making jokes about it. And the girls were even like ‘Oh my god, stop. You’re crazy.’ I’m like ‘No. It’s not crazy.'”

Mandy Rose’s assumption about her WWE career came to true
Indeed, Mandy Rose got the call of the release, the very next day from WWE around 11 in the morning. At that time, she was staying at another NXT Superstar Indi Hartwell’s house since she hoped to appear in a double taping for the year-end,
“I was actually staying at Indi Hartwell’s house. I stay there sometimes, we became really close. She was upstairs getting ready for TV because we had to do a double taping that day. That’s why I stayed. I was like ‘Indi, I just got fired.’ She’s all the way upstairs. She was like ‘What? Shut the f**k up. No way.’ And I was like ‘No, I’m serious.'”
It was an absurd situation for Mandy Rose after being let go from the WWE
Mandy Rose continued the conversation by admitting that her immediate reaction to the news of release took some time to process things. It was indeed difficult from being one of the most sought superstars to become someone without having a job,
“At first, you kind of laugh a little bit, because you don’t know whether you want to laugh or cry. It was like a gut punch. But then I was like ‘Okay. Well, now I need to really think about this and handle this.'” (quotes courtesy Wrestling INC)
Before her WWE release, Mandy Rose enjoyed a 413-day title reign with the NXT Women’s Championship starting all the way back from November 2021 before suddenly dropping it to Roxanne Perez on a regular December 13 episode of NXT. After hours, WWE decided to let her go from the contract due to her NSFW content over the FanTime platform.
