Typically, the winners of Money in the Bank matches get a world championship shot at a place and time of their choosing. This is exciting stuff on WWE programming as fans remain anxious about when the cash-in would possibly happen. It could happen anywhere and over the years we have seen such famous moments on WWE TV to crown new champions, out of nowhere.

In the latest ad for Money in the Bank, Cody Rhodes stressed the fact that those cash-ins could now be happening in the main event at WrestleMania,

“One lucky male and female superstar will win the chance to main event WrestleMania.”

Money in the Bank could be getting bigger in 2022

On the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about the Money in the Bank promo, which was repeated on Raw. Dave mentioned that nobody he talked to in the company knew anything about it. In fact, many WWE employees were surprised when they saw the promo and Wrestlemania main-event phrase used in it.

“That’s what they said. I know people there that should know that don’t know and were surprised. Asked WWE. The official statement was that there is no official statement…I guess maybe the mentality is that it would enhance the value of Money in the Bank and make it mean more, but obviously, it would change the entire nature of Money in the Bank.”

As there’s no concrete update available on the situation, fans will have to wait for more clarification on what WWE actually wanted to imply in the promo. Things get shuffled around in the company, every now and then, and perhaps WWE intends to make Money in the Bank implications even bigger. But many will be disappointed that they will not be entertained with surprise MITB cash-in happening at any time.

Money in the Bank 2022 will be presented as the fifth biggest premium live event of the year. The event will emanate from a stadium for the first time ever in early July that is from the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.
