The process of filling up the fray for men’s and women’s Money in the Bank 2023 ladder matches has started on this week’s Raw. Two participants from the Raw male roster have punched their tickets to the opportunistic matchup. Now, one more name from the women’s side has confirmed her spot in the ladder match on Smackdown.
As seen on the June 2 episode of Smackdown, two Money in the Bank 2023 qualifying matches went down on the show. In the first one of those, Zelina cemented her spot to go into the ladder match to be held in the premium live event scheduled in London, England within four weeks.

Vega booked her spot by defeating Lacey Evans in the Money in the Bank 2023 qualifier. Evans returned on Smackdown after taking a page out of WWE Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter’s book and dressing like him. This reminded us of a Twitter exchange between Lacey and Slaughter which teased the possibility of Slaughter managing Evans on WWE TV. For the time being, it looked like Lacey was receiving momentum but ultimately Vega prevailed by pinning her with the Canadian Destroyer finisher.

Zelina Vega back on the title hunt at Money in the Bank 2023
A few weeks ago, Vega came up short in her shot to the SmackDown Women’s Championship against Rhea Ripley at Backlash in her homeland of Puerto Rico. However, with this Money in the Bank 2023 qualifier win, Vega is back on the championship hunt. If she can win the opportunistic briefcase then she will receive a guaranteed Raw/Smackdown Women’s Title Match opportunity, as per her choice.
Vega made history at the Crown Jewel in 2021 PLE in Saudi Arabia when she won WWE’s first-ever Queen’s Crown tournament by defeating Doudrop in the final match. Moving on, she also won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship with Carmella. But to date, she’s yet to win her first singles championship in the WWE since her first main roster appearance back in January 2018. Currently, she’s part of Legado Del Fantasma which is also dubbed as Latino World Order including Rey Mysterio.
Time will tell whether Vega can capitalize on the opportunity received at the Money in the Bank 2023 women’s ladder match that’s scheduled on Saturday, July 1 at the 2023 WWE Money in the Bank premium live event at the O2 Arena in London, England.
