WWE Money in the Bank 2023 premium live event is going international from the United Kingdom. To entertain the fanbase of the country, WWE is bringing top superstars on board to make the event a grand success. Logan Paul was inserted into the Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match and recent reports also claim that none other than Brock Lesnar will also be on board to go after Cody Rhodes.

In an update around Money in the Bank 2023, it appears that top WWE Smackdown Superstar Charlotte Flair would be missing the show. A pitch was made to insert her into the Women’s MITB ladder mix. However, no such effort was noticed during the latest episode of Smackdown.

According to the reports of PWInsider Elite, there was a pitch thrown out for Charlotte Flair to take Zelina Vega’s place in the Women’s Money in the Bank 2023 ladder match. This could have been a risky move on WWE’s part as Vega has become quite the babyface in recent times while Flair is generating heat since coming back for another title match opportunity.

Nothing adjacent to the report was observed during Smackdown taping to add Flair into the ladder match. As of this writing, Flair’s status for Money in the Bank 2023 remains hazy. Her title match with WWE Women’s Champion Asuka ended in a no-contest after interference from former champion Bianca Belair. There’s no update if WWE wanting to host a rematch for the titles at the upcoming PLE.

If Charlotte Flair does miss Money in the Bank 2023 then it will be the second consecutive gimmick pay-per-view event that she will miss. Last year, she was out of action for the time of the PPV and beyond due to personal reasons. Back in May 2022, she got married to fellow wrestler Andrade El Idolo. Thereafter, she decided to spend some quality time with her husband as the hiatus continued until December 2022.

Minutes after her return, Charlotte Flair became the Smackdown Women’s Champion by defeating Ronda Rousey. Then at Wrestlemania 39, she dropped the belt to Rhea Ripley and headed to another long hiatus before returning three weeks before Money in the Bank 2023.
