With NXT Battleground 2023 waiting for this weekend, there will be a galore of festivities for professional wrestling fans. Apart from the NXT premium live event, Night of Champions is returning from Saudi Arabia. Besides WWE’s rival brand AEW is also offering their annual Double or Nothing PPV on the same day of the NXT event.
Speaking of NXT Battleground 2023, one more match in the form of the NXT Women’s Championship Match has been confirmed during this week’s episode of NXT. After staying vacant for a number of weeks, the NXT Women’s Title will finally find a new holder, this weekend.
Night Of Champions 2023: New Title Match And More Confirmed For WWE PLE
A tournament is ongoing on NXT that will culminate in the final match at NXT Battleground 2023. Two semifinals went down, last night and thus, we have received the two finalists. In the first match, Lyra Valkyria beat Cora Jade and then Tiffany Stratton beat Roxanne Perez in the main event to book their spots in the finale, this Sunday night. Going by the current looks, Stratton is seemingly the favorite to become the new championship winner.
Indi Hartwell was the earlier NXT Women’s Champion who last defended the title in a Fatal-5-Way Match. During that match, Indi suffered an ankle injury which forced her to vacate the title. She was also called up to the main roster during the Draft which was another reason to take the title off her. After this move, the new tournament eyeing a final at NXT Battleground 2023 was announced.
The upcoming PPV will feature more big-time title matches, including Carmelo Hayes vs. Bron Breakker for the NXT Championship, and Wes Lee vs. Tyler Bate vs. Joe Gacy for the NXT North American Championship. Plus, at NXT Battleground 2023 Gallus (Mark Coffey and Wolfgang) will also defend their NXT Tag Team Championships against The Creed Brothers.
