NXT Gold Rush 2023 will be upon us from next week onward as WWE is set to present a plethora of title matches to us. While all the top titles on the NXT roster will be on the line from WWE’s third brand, the World Heavyweight Championship from Raw will also be defended on the show for the very first time. The message is clear from WWE’s part that NXT is no more just a developmental brand.

During this week’s episode of NXT, Seth Rollins answered Bron Breakker’s challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship with a positive note and thus, he will return to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando Florida, next week to defend the belt against Bron Breakker. Once this main event match for next week was confirmed, NXT head honcho Shawn Michaels revealed via Twitter that this match will be part of the NXT Gold Rush 2023.

The top title from the NXT brand, the NXT Championship will also be up for grabs during NXT Gold Rush 2023. Carmelo Hayes will put his NXT Title on the line against free agent Baron Corbin, two weeks from now. On the latest episode of NXT, Corbin defeated Ilja Dragunov in the main event singles contest to become the new number-one contender for the NXT Championship.

The win came via a slight assist from Bron Breakker who is currently involved in a feud with Ilja. Breakker appeared in the ring and digested the Torpedo finishing move, allowing “The Lone Wolf” to capitalize with the End of Days on Ilja. Thus, he solidified his spot at the two-week special NXT Gold Rush 2023 special. This will be Corbin’s third match since returning to the NXT brand.
