For months now, Paige’s name has been discussed on the internet as a potential returnee on WWE programming. After a star-studded lineup was announced for the Women’s Royal Rumble 2022 edition, rumors went wild about some more possible surprise entrants and the former Divas Champion was one of them. This was the reason that she was trending for days leading up to the Rumble.
While there have been so many returns that happened during the 30-Woman Rumble match, Paige didn’t show up for the contest, ruining hopes for her fanbase. However, the good thing is that the projected return could still be happening at a given point considering that she’s now cleared to wrestle.
WWE NXT Now Has A Paige 2.0 Version On The Roster
Heading into the Rumble event, Wrestling News reported that Paige has been medically cleared to compete in a ring. This brought some more speculations to the context about her return which could happen on the Road to Wrestlemania. It was also noted by the source that unless she has signed a new contract, her WWE deal is due to expire in June.

Paige was rumored to make a Rumble return
WWE reportedly held a Women’s Rumble rehearsal on January 28 with well over 30 women participating in it, but there’s been no word on whether Paige was available for last night. Even if she was booked to return, WWE must have put extra effort into keeping her return a secret which is yet to happen.
Paige has been out of action since being forced to retire in 2018 after suffering a neck injury at a December 2017 WWE live event. The injury occurred after Sasha Banks kicked her into the back and she was unable to recover from it due to a long-term neck issue. Her career was reportedly over but in recent times she has often teased interest in wrestling again.
In November of 2019, Paige re-signed a multi-year deal with WWE that would take her through 2023, according to a PWInsider report at that time. However, it was the anti-Diva herself who later revealed that her current deal expires later this year,
“My contract is up in June of next year,” Paige said “Who knows if they would want to give me a new contract? Who’s to say they would want to? If they did, I’d love to have Twitch as a part of the contract.”
