Paige is one of the most popular female superstars of all time in WWE history. Despite the fact, the company has never tried to utilize her in a non-wrestling role over the past few years. After the FOX FS1 Backstage hosting gig was canceled, she was taken off television and never found her way back. Her future in the company is also in jeopardy especially at this point when talents are being released without notice.
In the meantime, WWE might have played a rib with the youngest Divas Champion in their history. Chloe Christmas, who works as a referee on 205 Live and NXT, will now be known as Paige, going forward. The in-ring name has been reflected on her Twitter account while she also encouraged fans to follow her new Instagram account.

The naming of the referee was an interesting choice on WWE’s part given that the former Divas Champion is still under the contract. Now two talents under the same name will be available on WWE’s official website.
Paige is hopeful about returning to action
The original Paige herself tweeted out a classic Spider-Man finger-pointing meme to have a brief on the situation. She also tagged @RefPaigeWWE and used a LOL emoji. This is indeed a unique and rare situation in the WWE and the lady referee is yet to comment about the situation. But for sure, she is likely to garner attention from the WWE Universe for her name.

Paige had to retire from competition after she was kicked from the back by Sasha Banks during a 2017 WWE MSG House Show event. Earlier this year, she gave fans a ray of hope about making an in-ring return since her neck has been feeling awesome after an impressive gym workout. It was also made clear that she isn’t leaving WWE despite the fact that her contract will soon be up.
As noted above, the anti-Diva, Paige is the inaugural WWE NXT Women’s Champion who was also the WWE Divas Champion, at the same time, the only woman to do so in history. Her incredible four-year career makes her a future Hall of Famer but she would like to enter the prestigious club only after enjoying another run in the WWE.
