Social media war within WWE and AEW representatives is nothing new. The latest in the mix is WWE’s Apex Predator, Randy Orton who picked up a fight with the owner of the rival brand himself, Tony Khan.

More interestingly the fight began with a tweet from the latest returnee in the WWE Universe, CM Punk.

Apparently, Punk was trying to promote the WWE Backstage talk show to be aired on FOX this Wednesday night featuring him as a guest host.

Former world champion wanted to leave WWE

He is the main attraction of the show who would be pulling huge viewership no matter what. He mentioned that no one is safe from his so-called pipe-bombs which drew the attention of AEW owner Tony Khan.

He took a direct shot at the Saudi Arabia debacle of WWE when superstars had to wait in a plane for over 24 hours.

Randy Orton took stance on behalf of the company by posting a link. He pointed out how Tony’s father was investigated for corruption.

However, Tony Khan was not much bothered about the story as it was a year-long ago incident when the Jacksonville Jaguars owner, Shahid Khan had some troublesome issues,

“I thought you only tagged me in your posts when you were grasping for leverage. That article’s over a year old + is about baseless claims made about my dad years ago. That’s the best you can do, nothing. Meanwhile, in the time since that was written, you used the N-word on twitch.”

Meanwhile, Randy Orton fired back at him saying that is he had some business-related queries, he’d call Shahid and not Tony.

This might have been another shot to AEW as people thought he was going sign with the new WWE rival brand owned by Tony.

We should also mention that WWE’s association with Saudi Arabia is not coming to an end, anytime soon. Despite the controversy, the partnership was recently extended,

“Following the historic Crown Jewel event in Riyadh, WWE (NYSE: WWE) and the Saudi General Entertainment Authority (GEA) have expanded their live event partnership through 2027 to include a second annual large-scale event.

WWE and GEA also continue to work towards the completion of a media agreement in the MENA region.

This long-term partnership demonstrates WWE and GEA’s commitment to bring sports entertainment to the region and supports Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.”
