Being a veteran superstar, Becky Lynch has excelled in both heel and babyface runs in the WWE, over the past few years. Her latest run came to an end at Summerslam 2022 due to an injury. That was the same night that she also transformed into a babyface character from the so-called heel persona.
Becky Lynch defeated Bianca Belair at SummerSlam 2021 with a victory in a matter of seconds. Then the two competed in multiple matches until the biggest encounter occurred at WrestleMania 38 when The EST of the WWE finally defeated Big Time Becks for the Raw Women’s Title.
WWE Raw: Becky Lynch Recently Reached New Landmark In Career
Becky Lynch was attacked the night after Summerslam
The rematch between the two went down at Summerslam, where Bianca Belair again defeated Becky Lynch, this time to retain her title. After the match, the latter turned babyface as she stood by Bianca’s side when Bayley, Dakota Kai, and IYO SKY returned to the WWE and confronted the Raw women’s champion.
Initially, she was also planning to get involved in a feud with the heel trio if the injury would haven’t occurred and this would have also solidified her babyface turn. During an interview on Out of Character with Ryan Satin, Becky Lynch recently explained why she changed her character to babyface after her match with Bianca Belair at SummerSlam 2022.

Triple H had a big influence on Becky Lynch’s character change
It appears that the new head of WWE creative Triple H was the driving force behind the decision. It was The Game who wanted her to move away from her villainous antics on WWE TV,
“He’s like, I feel like we’re swimming upstream keeping you as heel…and so then the creative was laid out and I was like, yeah, that sounds awesome. Hell yeah!”
During her final run as a babyface, Becky Lynch became the biggest star in the WWE and she also headlined WrestleMania 35 via “The Man” gimmick in 2019 alongside Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey. She then went into a hiatus after enjoying a record-breaking title reign in WWE for over one year due to her pregnancy.
Upon her return to WWE in August 2021, “The Man” shtick was scrapped as Vince McMahon introduced the “Big Time Becks” heel character. She did her best to establish the character but it could never overshadow The Man. Now that Becky Lynch has recovered from the injury, the popular gimmick is back on WWE TV.
