Liv Morgan has become The Miracle Kid of the WWE Universe by capturing the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship at the 2022 Money in the Bank premium live event. For a long time, fans have been pushing for the babyface superstar to get elevated to the championship picture and WWE finally allowed her to do so. She won the Money in the Bank briefcase and went on to pin Ronda Rousey to win her maiden title in the company.

Even weeks prior to the title win, fans barely had the clue about this sudden push toward Liv Morgan. Becky Lynch was the unprecedented favorite heading into the Money in the Bank ladder match and the actual wasn’t anywhere near. However, things happened for good for the young superstar who started her first-ever title run by switching brands. Several factors can reportedly be attributed to this sudden title win.

Absence Of Two WWE Smackdown Superstars Helped Liv Morgan To Become Champion 1

In a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer discussed Liv Morgan’s recent push. With Sasha Banks and Naomi gone from the company in mid-May, SmackDown roster was apparently in need of a couple of top-tier babyfaces. Given the gan back-up, the former Riott Squad member fitted into the role, perfectly. It was added that the superstar’s popularity also helped the creative team,

“Part of the reason, if not the key reason, for the recent push of Morgan was he walking out of Banks and Naomi. When they left, the idea was that Smackdown needed a new top tier woman babyface and Morgan was the one who got the pick of the draw. It’s also worked out because the fan base was ready for her.”

Liv Morgan received an unexpected push in the title picture

Once Sasha Banks and Naomi’s walkout, Fightful Select reported that the two gone babyface female superstars were in line to get a shot at the SmackDown and Raw Women’s Titles, respectively. At that time, these two women were holding the Women’s Tag Team Titles while Liv Morgan was randomly booked on Raw with no whatsoever direction.

If the planned direction would have unfolded, Banks would have feuded with Ronda Rousey to square off at Hell in a Cell while Naomi would go up against Bianca Belair for the SmackDownand Raw Women’s Championships. However, Banks and Naomi were reportedly against the idea of WWE using them as singles competitors despite them being the reigning Women’s Tag Team Titles. It was apparently devaluing the champions’ status.

Not to mention, that she’s consistently garnering the loudest pops on the shows that are a positive indication for her WWE future.
