For the past few weeks, the rumor mill has been running rampant about a potential mega return by The Rock. The most popular reason behind this return is due to the impending battle with his cousin Roman Reigns but Wrestlemania 40 is still a long time to arrive. If the return does become a reality then the latest reports claim that the veteran may just want to perform an additional duty.
As seen before on social media, The Rock received an open invitation from the up-and-coming Superstar Grayson Waller to show up at SmackDown. This happened after the two had a back-and-forth Twitter battle. Then, Waller went on to mention that Twitter beef on SmackDown.
The brass heel called out The Great One to the WWE shows to get a rub from him. This did stir up a lot of attention among the fans as they were willing to know whether WWE had any such plan in store featuring these two.

The Rock willing to put over Grayson Waller in WWE?
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that The Rock must be doing this online Twitter program with Grayson Waller for a reason. As seen in past occasions, The Great One puts over talent in some way when he returns to TV and the next time it could be Waller standing in line,
“If he’s doing this, he’s doing it to put the guy over, obviously. If he’s doing this, then he’s doing this for a reason. Maybe he’s gonna show up soon? They sure talked about it a lot. Maybe they talked about it cause it’s Dwayne Johnson?” (quotes courtesy Ringside News)
Despite Meltzer’s thinking, The Rock’s WWE return, sooner than later may not be possible given that WWE creative doesn’t have any plans regarding him. Ringside News already reached out to its source to know more about the situation and in return, a tenured member of the WWE creative team confirmed to them that, “as of now, there is nothing for Waller and Rock.”
However, it was also noted how The Rock isn’t going through the best phase on the professional side following the debacle of XFL relaunch. The Young Rock new season has also been scrapped which might drag him back on WWE TV for some publicity stunt.
