Renee Paquette was one of the mainstay figures of WWE programming despite having a non-wrestling role. She worked in the company for eight long years until parting ways with the company back in the summer of 2020. She chose to depart the company after FOX canceled WWE Backstage due to the COVID-19 pandemic. To be exact, SummerSlam 2020 marked the end of her WWE stint.
Down the road, Renee Paquette made her way to AEW which was an expected move since her husband Jon Moxley established himself to be a top star of the promotion. Mainly joining the company as a journalist, the Canadian has now revealed the nature of her contract with the AEW. It appears that she will be holding a dual position in the Tony Khan-owned brand.
WWE’s Renee Young Shows Off Her Browny Hair Look Via Social Media
While speaking to Richard Deitsch on the Sports Media Podcast, Renee Paquette revealed that she has signed a three-year contract with the AEW. Apart from being a talent in the company, she also possesses a producer’s contract with All Elite Wrestling,
“I’ve got a multiple year (deal). I have a three-year deal with AEW. Three years as talent and three-year producer contract. I have two different contracts.
I would love for that role to evolve. The thing with AEW is it is a wrestling company, it is a matches heavy show, it’s not necessarily about the broadcast in the way that WWE was. It’s about great matches and showcasing talent in a different way. I love doing interviews and backstage interviews, especially working with younger talent that maybe has not been in that kind of situation before. There are so many people that I’m dying to do proper sit-down interviews with.”
Renee Paquette has been vocal about key differences between AEW and WWE
Previously while speaking on her Oral Sessions podcast, Renee Paquette compared her time in AEW to WWE with regard to the two company’s storytelling abilities to fans. She pointed out how AEW doesn’t treat their fans as stupid, unlike WWE. There have been times when WWE had left their fans confused for not culminating their storylines in a proper way.
After leaving WWE, the former Renee Young launched her own podcast named Oral Sessions with Renee Paquette (now called The Sessions with Renee Paquette). Setting an example of being a working mother, she continues to interview a variety of guests from wrestling, MMA, and more.
Also in 2021, she released her first cookbook named Messy In The Kitchen: My Guide to Eating Deliciously, Hosting Fabulously, and Sipping Copiously. Besides this, The Cincinnati Bengals have announced that she will host a new series for the team named Renee All Dey.
