It was earlier reported that the WWE Champion, Jinder Mahal will be present in India from October 13th onwards. It was announced by WWE EVP of talent relations, Triple H during his arrival in Mumbai. The main reason to send him in the subcontinent is to excite the upcoming WWE Live event for December.
His arrival in India was also the main reason to take him off the WWE TV from this week’s Smackdown Live. Although he worked in a dark segment following the show, he has not appeared in the main show of Tuesday Night show. Next week, his experiences of India are going to be elaborated in front of the audience.
Meanwhile, the Modern Day Maharaja is doing his duty as per schedule. He has already stepped his foot in his native-land and started the promotions for the upcoming live event in India. Previously, we have spotted him in numerous media sessions including a Facebook Live session to make some exciting announcements.
Now, we have seen him defending his title successfully at the Hell in a Cell PPV. One of the reasons for him to retain the championship is the India tour. If his words are any hint, then he will put his title on the line during the upcoming live event in India, too.
Not only that, but Jinder Mahal also revealed his opponent for that night, as well. The bonafide heel of the Smackdown brand, Kevin Owens will challenge him for the WWE Championship. The match which is still to be confirmed by WWE should be the main event of the house show from the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi on December 8th.
This is quite an exciting lineup for the title match. Considering that Jinder will be the babyface in his home country of India, the officials might have chosen to pit the current number one heel of the WWE roster against him. Owens will be able to take out the heat from the Indian audience, for sure.
Also, this is an indication that the prizefighter might be present in the WWE Championship picture at that point. After defeating Shane McMahon at the Hell in a Cell PPV, he certainly deserves a shot to the title and is likely to get it shortly.
