WWE legend Rey Mysterio and Grammy Award-winning Superstar Bad Bunny were part of the 2022 Men’s Royal Rumble match. With their high flying abilities, they were able to entertain the WWE fans to the fullest. There was a moment when the two Spanish icons worked together in the 30-man match.

It appears that they also shared a deep backstage moment, as well. Rey Mysterio took to Instagram in order to share a video of himself along with Bunny. He kept a white towel over his head to cover up his face, but he passed his Rumble mask to Bunny in a gesture of respect,

“Although there was a competition, this is definitely for Bunny, man. Thank you very much!”

Bunny and Rey Mysterio talked to each other in Spanish before the latter walked away, as seen in the video. Bunny held the mask close to his chest as a sign of respect as he hopes to come back to the WWE whenever the planning seems to be perfect.

Rey Mysterio won’t retire anytime soon

It was from Royal Rumble 2021 that Bunny started his presence felt on the WWE programming. He teamed up with Damian Priest while feuding with John Morrison and The Miz. The two tag teams collided in a tag team match at the show of shows where Priest and Bunny became victorious.

A for Rey Mysterio, he remains a continuous fixture on WWE TV. On the Not About Wrestling podcast, he discussed his retirement and how he plans on moving on from wrestling. He responded to a question by the host of whether his son would retire him. But he would rather like to go out on a high note, winning a championship with his son by his side,

“I haven’t thought about him retiring me, but I have thought about winning gold together. A lot of people have said, “I can see Dominik retiring you, and you fighting your son”. That is what everybody expects to happen, but why not leave the ending of this story on a high note. Retiring with my hands raised up high, Mayweather style. I’m hoping I can be the first one to say “that’s it” and that’s it.”
