Almost three years ago, Roman Reigns made an impressive return to the WWE after a four-month hiatus in 2020. That sudden heel-turn left the fans in awe as he gradually established himself as the undisputed ruler of the roster. The impact was incredible as fans finally got over from his lackluster babyface version.

Within a short span of a few days, Roman Reigns established his dominance by winning the Universal Championship and becoming the Tribal Chief of the WWE. Down the road, he captures the WWE Championship to solidify his undisputed status in the WWE. He’s entering the show of shows with the championship to break a significant record at WrestleMania 39.

Roman Reigns is already the longest-reigning world champion in the modern history of the WWE and has already main-event Wrestlemania six times. Now, he is set to defend his title in the main event of the 39th edition against Cody Rhodes. Since the first edition of WrestleMania in 1985, this will also be treated as a record for the biggest event in the world of sports entertainment.

Roman Reigns is approaching closer to a 1000-day title reign

The Head of the Table won the Universal Title at Payback 2020 by defeating Braun Strowman and The Fiend Bray Wyatt in a Triple Threat. Then, he successfully defended it against Edge and Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 37 in 2021.

Roman Reigns once again defended the title at WrestleMania 38 against Brock Lesnar in a title vs. title matchup. Then, this year, as part of his Undisputed WWE Universal Title reign, he will defend his championship once more against Cody Rhodes.

As of April 1, 2023, Roman Reigns has held the title for an impressive 943 days. The 1000-day landmark could cause in a celebration for him at King & Queen of the Ring PLE in May.
