Roman Reigns has reached a phase in his WWE career where he is capable of making records even during an absence and via other fellow wrestlers on the roster. The top-most champion of the WWE wasn’t in attendance at the Payback 2023 premium live event but his former cohort Seth Rollins was and that clinched a unique record for his Shield brethren.

As mentioned in a report from WWFOldSchool, Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns is the first wrestler in WWE history to witness three other wrestlers enjoying 100+ day reigns with world championships from the main roster within his own reign with a World Title.

Roman Reigns saw three separate 100+ day title reigns

Roman Reigns achieved this record after Seth Rollins crossed 100 days as the World Heavyweight Champion by retaining his Title at Payback against Shinsuke Nakamura. Below are the three 100+ day World Title reigns that The Tribal Chief has witnessed during his ongoing undisputed title reign:

1. Bobby Lashley (WWE Championship reign from March 1, 2021 to September 13, 2021)
2. Big E (WWE Championship reign from September 13, 2021 to January 1, 2022)
3. Seth Rollins (ongoing World Heavyweight Championship reign)

Roman Reigns expected to miss Fastlane PLE in October

Following the most successful Summerslam of all time, WWE presented Payback 2023 early this month. Unlike the bygone PLEs from early summer, Roman Reigns was out of action since he mostly enjoys a limited schedule in the company, these days.

After Jimmy Uso’s betrayal of his twin brother Jey Uso that helped Roman Reigns to retain his title at Summerslam, a match between the two was expected to go down at Payback 2023 but that’s seemingly been held back for a bigger occasion, possibly at next year’s Wrestlemania. With that, The Bloodline was kept off the card of the September premium live event except for Jey Uso’s return to the Raw brand.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter was able to confirm that Roman Reigns would not be seen competing at the WWE Payback 2023 PLE, heading into the show. With Summerslam in the history books, The Tribal Chief will be able to skip one of these small-scale pay-per-view events. While nothing is confirmed, Fastlane in early October could be another event that he will opt to skip.
