WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns is going through the best phase of his career ever since making his return on TV at last year’s SummerSlam. His heel act as the Tribal Chief with Paul Heyman and Jey Uso by side has been nothing but top class. Being a top star he recently wanted to take a jab at the former UFC double champion, Daniel Cormier.

The former MMA fighter has now responded to Roman Reigns by calling him out and stating that he is more than ready to get into a fight with the WWE Superstar. This led Special Counsel Paul Heyman to take several shots at Cormier, one of them being that he isn’t even worthy of being an enhancement talent in WWE.

Heyman also mentioned how Cormier’s biggest UFC moment was getting shoved across the Octagon by Brock Lesnar,

“LMAO! @dc_mma tagged an imposter @WWERomanReigns account, hoping the #UniversalChampion doesn’t see this nonsense.” Fight ROMAN REIGNS? #DC would be lucky to be in @WWE as enhancement talent! His biggest moment in @UFC was getting shoved across the Octagon by @BrockLesnar!”

Cormier replied to Heyman saying that he is definitely tired of Roman Reigns and now he legitimately wants a fight against him. While saying this on Twitter, he also tagged Vince McMahon and Triple H so that the match could be made,

“My advisor @arielhelwani is waiting by the phone. Its time to stop talking and let’s make this real! I’m 42 years old with a bad back and I’m whippin you any day of the week. Your move @VinceMcMahon @HHH this my yard, I’m the big dog!”

Roman Reigns claimed to smash Daniel Cormier

The whole situation was created by the WWE Universal Champion as he spoke to ESPN’s Ariel Helwani to mention that in one on one competition, he can smash anyone. He name-dropped Daniel Bryan and WWE Hall of Famer Edge, his WrestleMania opponents before mentioning Daniel Cormier.

Roman Reigns stated that he would smash Cormier in a singles contest. The only way Cormier would have a chance if he attacked Reigns from behind his desk.

“I like one-on-ones, to be honest. I’d smash anybody whether it’s Daniel Bryan one-on-one, Edge one-on-one, DC, I’ll smash him one-on-one. Get him from behind the table, get him back in the gym, maybe he could have a chance. I don’t know, it would be a short story.”

There’s no update on whether WWE is giving it a thought of bringing Cormier for a match against Roman Reigns. Cormier is retired from an active MMA competition which makes him free to sign for a WWE fight, though. There have been talks of him signing with WWE in the past and now he seems more than determined ever to make a WWE fight happen. We will have to wait and see if his WWE debut is happening, anytime soon.
