WWE is revisiting one of the most critically acclaimed feuds cum matches involving Roman Reigns, just a few days from now. Back at the Elimination Chamber premium live event from Montreal, Canada, the dual champion of the WWE retained his title against the native countrymen Sami Zayn. Now, these two will once again be locking horns over the titles, this weekend.
After a long time, Roman Reigns is coming back to perform in a WWE Live Event. As per the information released by the WWE on its official website, he is slated to feature in the main event of an untelevised house show from Canada.
Wrestlemania 39: Full Rumored Match Card Revealed For WWE PLE
On March 4th, it was confirmed by the Coca-Cola Coliseum in Toronto, Ontario, Canada that the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship will be on the line as Zayn will again be the challenger this Saturday as part of WWE’s Road to WrestleMania live event tour.
WWE NXT Roadblock 2023: Shawn Michaels, Tag Match And Grudge Match Announced
Roman Reigns was originally supposed to feature in a tag team match
Previously this match was scheduled in a different way. Sami Zayn was set to team up with his fellow Canadian Kevin Owens for a tag team match against Roman Reigns and fellow Bloodline member Solo Sikoa. But then the card is subjected to change in a WWE show, as always. Plus, Zayn is still attempting to resolve his issues with Owens after months of turmoil. Hence, it also makes sense from a storyline perspective not to let Zayn and Owens at this point.
While Roman Reigns is scheduled to face Cody Rhodes at Wrestlemania for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, many are expecting that Owens and Zayn will eventually come to the same page prior to WrestleMania 39 and will square off with The Usos for their Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships. This future match could also be the reason why the lineup for the house show has been changed.
Roman Reigns not likely to drop his title at a house show
From the fans’ view, Zayn winning in Toronto and heading into WrestleMania 39 as the new Undisputed WWE Universal Champion will be a great idea but a defeat for Roman Reigns must not be on the card given that he is set to feature in the main event of WrestleMania 39. He’s already surpassed 900 days as the WWE Universal Champion and dethroning him at a house show. Back in 1994, the world title changed hands when Bob Backlund lost the title to Diesel at Madison Square Garden.
As noted above, Roman Reigns last successfully defended his title at Elimination Chamber in Montreal, last month. The popular belief is that Cody Rhodes is the one to win the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at the Show of Shows and usher in a new era in the WWE during the post-WrestleMania 39 seasons.
