Roman Reigns has been presented as the most dominant force in the WWE since his heel-turn, back in the summer, of two years ago. His stock continued to rise with each passing day since the comeback that happened at SummerSlam pay-per-view in 2020. A week later at the Payback PPV event, he ended up winning the Universal Champion and became The Tribal Chief of WWE.
Since then Roman Reigns has been booked as the top prospect on Friday Night Smackdown on FOX. The heel run has been praised to a big extent over the years and he himself opened up about his current character. He’s become the longest-reigning titleholder in the history of modern WWE. Being an undefeated superstar, he’s portrayed as a dominant WWE Universal Champion.

Roman Reigns sent a message on Twitter
The almost 900-day reign can definitely be attributed to his incredible transformation to a heel from a universal babyface character. Roman Reigns had taken to Twitter and uploaded a clip where he proceeded to note his current character in WWE. He revealed that his character was built, every bit through his real-life experiences. He wrote the following,
“Every bit of who I am has gone into this character, every little speed bump, the adversities, the growing pains, the transitions, all of that has been just balled up and used into what you see today.”

Heel-turn of Reigns was a long-time coming
Previously, a universal babyface character was reserved since he was the chosen face of the WWE. But the massive change in character for Roman Reigns was much needed to cement his status as fans weren’t pleased with his character’s dimension and the overly pushes he received. Over the years, these have been painful experiences for the fans.
But ultimately, Roman Reigns went on to become a lived heel from a rejected babyface and the credit goes to him and Paul Heymqn for the transformation. He was simply hated as a babyface despite the fact that he delivered top matches in that tenure with other WWE Legends. Perhaps, choosing him to fill in the shoes of John Cena in an abrupt way wasn’t a smart choice since the process wasn’t organic.
It’s safe to say that Roman Reigns has flourished as the Tribal Chief in the WWE and his work has been top-notch. While speaking on his Wooooo Nation Uncensored podcast, WWE Legend Ric Flair also praised the current WWE Superstar and mentioned him as a perfect heel.
