Roman Reigns has been enjoying a historic run in the WWE for the last couple of years. First, he was the Universal Champion, and then he became the Undisputed Universal Champion at WrestleMania 38, earlier this year. He has literally been untouchable since returning to WWE in 2020 and his status hasn’t changed, at all. It’s also unlikely that he will drop his titles this year.
During his title run, Roman Reigns has defended his title on 24 separate occasions on TV against the likes of Rey Mysterio, Bryan Danielson, Edge, Cesaro, Kevin Owens, and many more. There’s no doubt about his title run being perhaps the greatest of this generation but at this point, fans have may have been bored tolerating his title run, months after months.

Triple H continuing with Vince McMahon’s idea about Roman Reigns
According to WrestlingNews.co, the occasion of Roman Reigns dropping the titles won’t arrive anytime soon. Triple H is apparently moving forward with Vince McMahon’s original idea of letting Roman Reigns walk into WrestleMania 39 as the reigning champion.

Roman Reigns set to enter next WrestleMania as champion
More details about the match scheduled to take place at the Biggest Event of the Year were not revealed by the source, but speculations suggest that if plans remain the same, then Roman Reigns would defeat The Rock and then drop the title right after WrestleMania 39. Here’s more from the source,
“WrestlingNews.co was told by someone familiar with the creative process that nothing has changed and there are still no plans for him to lose the title this year and when Reigns turned heel in 2020, the plan at the time was for him to be the champion when he eventually wrestled The Rock and Vince McMahon wanted Reigns to retain the title and the idea was, and still is, for Reigns to become a top babyface.”
Roman Reigns unified the Universal and WWE Championships at WrestleMania 38 as he defeated Brock Lesnar to become the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. Since then he defeated Riddle on the June 18 episode of Smackdown in his first unified title defense.
Then in a high-profile match in the main event of WWE Clash at the Castle 2022, Roman Reigns defeated Drew McIntyre to retain the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship and thereby continue the 2+ year title reign. At the end of the match, Solo Sikoa (younger brother of The Usos) from NXT 2.0 attacked McIntyre, allowing the champion to hit the Spear and pin McIntyre to pick up the win.
