Being the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, Roman Reigns was the first pick of the 2023 WWE Draft during Night One of the shakeup process on the April 28 edition of Smackdown. Alongside, the reigning champion, the blue brand officials had also chosen Solo Sikoa and Paul Heyman to be drafted on SmackDow. Later, The Usos were also picked on the same brand ensuring The Bloodline stays safe as a group.

However, there are certain cracks in the faction and that notion certainly brings up a big question about The Bloodline’s future on the brand. Plus, there are also questions about the future of the undisputed championship and who’s going to step up next to Roman Reigns to secure a title match.

Going by the earlier report by Xero News, Roman Reigns’ next feud is scheduled to be against AJ Styles who returned during Draft Night One from an injury alongside The O.C. (Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson & “Michin” Mia Yim) as they were also drafted to SmackDown. The O.C. made a big statement by laying out The Viking Raiders and Valhalla.

AJ Styles yet to be pitched as Roman Reigns’ next opponent

Ringside News noticed the news that AJ Styles was possibly going to face Roman Reigns next for his titles and they reached out to confirm that story. They were told that is not the case at all.

The reliable source was told by a tenured member of the WWE writing team that Roman Reigns vs. AJ Styles is “not even close to an accurate guess” for the next challenger for the undisputed championship. With that the rumor was squashed and fans hoping to see this match at Night of Champions would certainly be disappointed.

Over the past three years, The Head of the Table had run roughshod over all his opponents, leaving only a handful of opponents who could face him for the time in fresh matches. Given AJ faced him in two TV matches, seven years ago, this feud could have been an option but as RSN informed, the match is not probably happening in the near future.

In the main event of WrestleMania 39 Night Two, Roman Reigns defeated Cody Rhodes to retain the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. Although nothing is confirmed, we hope he will next put the title on the line at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia.
