The current flag-bearer of WWE Monday Night Raw is none other than Seth Rollins. WWE’s original franchise player, Roman Reigns has been drafted to SmackDown which is why the company geared up The Architect for the top spot for a long time.
The plan turned out to be an initial success as the fans cheered him for the better part of his championship reign.
John Cena’s superstitious belief
But the trend recently changed as Seth Rollins started to receive boos from the fans ever since he started a rivalry against The Fiend Bray Wyatt.
Announcement for Elimination Chamber
Despite acting as the prime babyface superstar of the red brand, the negative reactions towards him continued to grow over the past several weeks. So there might be concerns among the officials for one of the two poster boys of the company.
Roman Reigns was a recent guest on WWE’s podcast named After The Bell to discuss this topic. He talked about the friendship shared with the former Universal Champion Seth Rollins.
The Big Dog seemed to have full confidence on his Shield brethren as he firmly believes that Seth is the right guy to carry the red brand,
“We’ve talked very briefly but just the way with our travel, it’s really separated us.” Roman Reigns told host Corey Graves. “We’re both out to conquer but we have to hold it down for our respective sides. With Seth, he knows what to do. He knows what to do in the ring and how to carry himself. It’s just a matter of riding it out.”
Corey then asked him to opine on the tough topic that his friend is getting booed, each week on WWE Raw. Now, who better to leave a note than Roman Reigns who’s the biggest example of how to overcome the negative feedbacks in any given situation?
Here’s what the most polarizing WWE superstar of all time has to say on the current state of Seth Rollins,
“This is a situation where sometimes it’s, ‘What have you done for me lately?’ You just have to go out the next night and kill it and continue to kill it. That’s all that matters – just bust your ass and work hard.”
He continued, “The cream always rises to the top and that’s something Cena told me a long time ago. Don’t go out there and stink it up. Have a good match and at the end of the day our fans are passionate but they have respect for what we do.
[…] Seth is a pro wrestling guy and he’s never going to go anywhere. He’s always had the dream of WWE and a little bit of a roller coaster isn’t gonna scare him away.” (courtesy wrestlingINC.com)
WWE is desperate while trying to protect Seth Rollins as much as they can from the fans’ backlash. WWE reportedly edited the audience’s reaction to the superstar from Monday Night RAW taped from the United Kingdom.
We’re yet to see whether this trend continues with Rollins or gets improved in due course.
