The Shield comprised of Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Dean Ambrose is often touted as the most dominant faction in the history of the WWE. Only 2/3 of that group is under WWE’s banner as the third wheel decided to join a rival brand of the WWE. This means a reunion in the near future is impossible.
Being a resident faction created by the WWE which was an emotion for the fans, WWE often used The Shield for popping up the TV ratings, whenever needed. Considering that WWE has seen able to bring back superstars to the company after a hiatus, this could always be the case that Ambrose aka Jon Moxley could also be back, eventually.

Roman Reigns Says The Shield Won’t Reunite In WWE For A Long Time
It is certain that packed house in the future will erupt if the infamous music of The Shield hit any arena. However, in reality, there are fewer chances to see that happening. During a recent Q&A with Mania Club, Roman Reigns said that Ambrose fka Moxley really “screwed up” any Shield reunion possibilities when he left for AEW.
However, Reigns went on to add that the company has used The Shield too many times in recent memory anyway that doesn’t leave the fans to mourn over the absence of Moxley.
“Well I guess Ambrose or Moxley really screwed that up, didn’t he? He messed around and just left us. I don’t think The Shield will ever be recreated or brought back. That’s not just a situation because Mox went to AEW. It’s just, we were so good. Honestly, I think we did the reunion thing a little too much the last… three years ago or whatever it was. I don’t even know if it’s worth revisiting that unless we disappear for like half a decade, and then out of nowhere you hear the music.”
Roman Reigns changing his theme song could be really good thing as it would only be reserved for The Shield, only in the future. He has to fit into the Tribal Chief character, anyway.
After the initial separation in 2014, it took three years for The Shield to get back on the same page as a group. They have another brief reunion in 2018 before Ambrose turned heel. Last year, when Ambrose was leaving the WWE, the company planned a farewell for him while bringing the group together during the WrestleMania season. They also had The Shield’s final chapter as a WWE Network special in April 2019.
