ToggleRoman Reigns has been unleashing God mode upon the WWE Universe for the past couple of years. Just like the previous version of Brock Lesnar, he’s become the most protected superstar on the roster who belongs to a totally different league since his return to the WWE back in 2020. A heel shtick was introduced for him and that worked wonders for him for his on-screen character.
Thus the much-needed boost that he was looking forward to receiving for a long time, was given. Now, he’s ruling the roost in the WWE with an iron fist as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion where the two top world titles belong to him. It’s also safe to say that he will not drop the title anytime soon and even when he does so, WWE will make sure that it will be a monumental occasion.
WWE Wrestlemania 39: Current Working Idea For Roman Reigns’ Two Opponents
Now, there have been a lot of talks about WWE possibly separating the WWE Championship and the Universal Championship again. At the same time, WWE doesn’t want Roman Reigns to take a pinfall loss to drop one of the Titles, especially not before WrestleMania 39 since he’s reportedly set to face The Rock in the biggest match of his career on that night with either one or both the titles on the line.
Roman Reigns could drop one of his championships at WWE Draft 2023
According to Xero News, a pitch has been thrown to have Roman Reigns somehow drop the WWE Championship during the WWE Draft, which is scheduled to take place in the post-WrestleMania season,
“A pitch (but not confirmed) is for Roman to drop the WWE Title in the Draft after WrestleMania. Then a Tournament to crown a new champion to be held.”
Roman Reigns won the Universal TItle in 2020
Roman Reigns defeated Braun Strowman and The Fiend Bray Wyatt to win the Universal Championship at WWE Payback on August 30, 2020. Then at WrestleMania 38 on April 3, 2022, The Head of the Table defeated Brock Lesnar to win the WWE Championship and become the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion or the unified world champion of the company.
The Undisputed WWE Universal Champion has also reached another milestone in the company in recent times where he completed three years without getting pinned. The last time it happened was at the 2019 TLC pay-per-view event against King Baron Corbin. It wasn’t a clean pinfall loss though as several interferences by Dolph Ziggler and The Revival occurred during the match.
