Undisputed WWE Universal Championship Roman Reigns is set to defend his belt against the 2023 Men’s Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes in the main event of WrestleMania 39 Night Two. While no confirmation about his next feud or match is available, he is reportedly set to main-event the next Saudi Arabia premium live event in May, possibly named WrestleMania Backlash.
WWE Raw: Roman Reigns Reacts To Emotional Cody Rhodes-Sami Zayn Segment
Interestingly though, Roman Reigns isn’t listed to perform at the Money in the Bank 2023 premium live event, which will take place at the O2 Arena in London on July 1. At present, the top superstar isn’t featured on the poster of the event, either. The following names are currently advertised to appear at Money in the Bank,
– Cody Rhodes
– Drew McIntyre
– Seth Rollins
– Kevin Owens
– Becky Lynch
– Charlotte Flair
– Bianca Belair
Since Cody Rhodes is being advertised for the UK show and Roman Reigns is not listed, this already started speculation that the latter is going to lose the Undisputed Title, soon, possibly to Cody at WrestleMania 39 itself. However, this may not be necessarily true given that the Head of the Table didn’t work in the 2022 Money In The Bank edition, either as he was saved for other big nights.
Post-Wrestlemania 39 Plans Revealed For Undisputed Champion Roman Reigns
Roman Reigns has become a special attraction on WWE TV
At WrestleMania 38, Roman Reigns became the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion in the main event match by defeating the then-WWE Champion Brock Lesnar. Since that match, WWE started booking new dual champion as a “special attraction”, similar to Brock Lesnar, meaning that the audience will have to subscribe to Peacock/WWE Network to see him in action since most of his matches take place in premium live events.
Roman Reigns to perform in a rare house show
This kind of booking benefits the WWE in the long term since these talents go on to become bigger draws with time. Even Roman Reigns gradually stopped performing on WWE house shows, as well. After a long gap, he will wrestle a rare untelevised Live Event match on March 4 at The Coca-Cola Coliseum in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
This will mark a rare house show appearance for The Tribal Chief on the Road to WrestleMania 39, the first time since September 24th, 2022, when he defeated AJ Styles to retain the Undisputed Championship at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The announced card for the show is given below,
– Gunther (c) vs. Drew McIntyre for the Intercontinental Championship
– Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Sonya Deville for the SmackDown Women’s Championship
– Bray Wyatt vs. LA Knight in a Lights Out Street Fight
Roman Reigns was last seen in action at the WWE Elimination Chamber on February 18 where he defeated Sami Zayn to retain the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. As noted above, he is booked to perform at WrestleMania 39 main event against Cody Rhodes for the most prestigious gold in the WWE.
