As of this week, Roman Reigns has officially become a champion in WWE who’s been holding his title (s) for two consecutive years. Back on August 30 of 2020, he defeated The Fiend Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman at WWE Payback to win the Universal Championship. Since then, he didn’t ever have to look back, at all.
Two years later, Roman Reigns is not only still the Universal Champion but he also has the WWE Championship around his shoulder, as well. He defeated Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38 to unify both the top titles in the WWE and thereby become the first-ever Undisputed WWE Universal Champion of the World.

Roman Reigns successfully defended his belt on 23 occasions
It should be noted that the last wrestler before Roman Reigns to hold the world title for two years was Hulk Hogan in 1986 and that wasn’t a part of the modern era of professional wrestling history where the competition has become so tough.
Going through this ongoing run, Roman Reigns defended his championship on 23 occasions on TV. Also, as noted above, he unified the Universal Title with the WWE Tile to create the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship earlier this year at WrestleMania 38.
The Tribal Chief has victimized the likes of Jey Uso, Daniel Bryan (now AEW star Bryan Danielson), Kevin Owens, Edge, Cesaro (now AEW star Claudio Castagnoli), Rey Mysterio, John Cena, Finn Balor, Sami Zayn, Seth Rollins, Goldberg, Matt Riddle, and Brock Lesnar to keep the gold around his shoulder. Plus, Roman Reigns has also not been pinned or submitted since a non-DQ loss to Baron Corbin at WWE TLC in December 2019.
This Saturday night at Clash at the Castle, Roman Reigns will feature in a long-awaited match when he defends his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Drew McIntyre. This huge Premium Live Event set from Cardiff, Wales is being promoted as WWE’s first stadium show in the United Kingdom in over thirty years.
