After a hiatus of three long years, Ronda Rousey returned to the WWE last year during the Royal Rumble event. Coming off an impregnation vacation, she made a triumphant return by winning the Women’s Royal Rumble match and thereby putting herself back into the title picture. Since then, she became a champion twice on SmackDown to become an overall three-time champion in the company.
Despite being placed as the top figure of the blue brand women’s division, nothing much came out of those. Her lack of in-ring skills drew the ire of the fans which resulted in the WWE putting the title back on Charlotte Flair, the trusted shoulder. At present, Ronda Rousey is admittedly tag team picture-bound but plans around her could be in jeopardy as she was injured during Smackdown.
WWE Smackdown: Interesting Reason Behind Ronda Rousey Dropping Title In Late 2022
While Ronda Rousey was previously interested in going after Charlotte Flair, she has since made it clear that she is more interested in taking over the tag team division. This is the reason that she has been paired up with Shayna Baszler since the beginning of this year. The duo plans on going after the tag team title picture which is currently held by two red brand names but an injury scare could change things up.

Michael Cole gave news about Ronda Rousey’s injury on SmackDown
This past Friday night on SmackDown, fans were left disappointed when the much-awaited tag team match featuring Ronda Rousey was unexpectedly scrapped from the care and it was replaced with a singles match between Baszler and Tegan Nox. The reason for the sudden change of plans was revealed by Michael Cole during the show as he stated that the former champion had sustained an injury during a brawl with Tegan Nox before the show went on the air.
A clip was shown where Ronda Rousey was seen clutching her arm and expressing regret to Nox that she didn’t completely destroy it as a payback is coming. The Baddest Woman on the Planet took to her Instagram and uploaded a clip of Baslzer’s match with Nox, where she made fun of Nox with her caption. Finally breaking her silence regarding the matter she stated the following,
“Arm for an arm, Skittles @nixonnewell. How’d that canvas taste? #LikeRainbow? Congrats on the carnage @qosbaszler ???????”
As WrestleMania 39 inches closer, fans are currently speculating about whether Ronda Rousey will be able to compete after sustaining the injury on SmackDown. Despite the setback, reports from PW Torch do indicate that she should be okay in time for WrestleMania 39. The plan remains the same where she and Baszler will challenge the Women’s Tag Team Champions, Lita and Becky Lynch for the titles.
