It was in the summer of 2023 that Ronda Rousey was last seen on WWE television while being in action at Summerslam. Putting over Shayna Baszler in a lackluster match was her self-appointed duty before leaving the company in a desperate effort to up the latter’s career but it ultimately didn’t offer any help.

Away from the squared circle, Ronda Rousey offered her autobiography to the fans and she also went on a rant against the WWE during the promotion of the book. The former champion was asked to reveal some backstage scoops and she was crystal clear in her response while shedding light on her perspective on her tenure. It was also affirmed that she has no intention of returning to WWE.

Ronda Rousey’s Remarks Against WWE Didn’t Surprise The Company

During an interview with Cageside Seats, Ronda Rousey commended Triple H for his exceptional treatment of the women in the industry and the belief that he had in their abilities to kick off the women’s revolution. She credited him as the primary reason for her presence in WWE. Additionally, Triple H’s creative direction was all that she wished for during the second WWE tenure which wasn’t available,

“I had a long sit down with Triple H and I was like, ‘I can’t be associated with mediocrity’. That’s what they seemed to be happy with at the time. I hope that is different now, but I can’t say… that I’ve ever experienced it any other way.”

Ronda Rousey was dealing with concussions before leaving the WWE

Furthermore, Ronda Rousey also appeared in an interview on Never Before Told to promote the memoir to discuss her retirement from wrestling and competition, altogether. Her concussion history was directed to be the reason behind her retirement, something that she hid while being under contract with the WWE,

“Another would be my concussion history that I had to keep secret for years so I would be able to continue to compete and perform. That’s basically why I had to retire.”

At SummerSlam 2023, Shayna Baszler defeated Ronda Rousey in an MMA Rules Match. Soon after this match, she appeared in an indie show to perform in a tag team match with bestie Marina Shafir which led to a further appearance on ROH for another tag match which was her last in a wrestling competition.
