Ronda Rousey had a successful first tenure in the WWE in the 2018-19 season after which she headed into a maternity hiatus. It was assumed that she would make a triumphant comeback and WWE essentially made it possible by letting her win the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble Match. But it was during that same stint that she ended up growing bitterness about WWE products.

In her book Our Fight, Ronda Rousey knew no bounds about venting out frustrations on her tumultuous tenure with WWE. Her experiences within the company were not that good mostly due to the lack of creative plans that the Vince McMahon regime had in store for us. To be true, the WWE Universe also stopped caring about her matches due to this.

During the promotion spree around her book, Ronda Rousey delivered some scathing remarks towards WWE’s key figures like Bruce Prichard, John Laurinaitis, and of course, McMahon while expressing her frustrations,

“In MMA, I originally just started them for publicity, but those other itches did not get the memo, and so they became personal. And in WWE, it’s all fake – I love them. Except for Bruce Prichard and John Laurinaitis. They can go f*ck themselves.”

WWE isn’t surprised by Ronda Rousey’s negative comments

Following the criticism delivered by Ronda Rousey, Ringside News reached out to a senior member of the WWE Creative team to know the internal reaction within WWE to this reaction. The response came as the company was taken aback by the former star’s anti-WWE campaign. According to the source, frustration and anger were seemingly visible throughout her second run with the company,

“Not really. She was pretty angry during her second run here,” the source remarked bluntly.”

It was at the Pro Wrestling Revolver’s Unreal event that Ronda Rousey returned to pro-wrestling after her WWE tenure to team up with Marina Shafir against Athena and Billie Starkz in a tag team match. That wasn’t her only appearance as a wrestler as she then made her debut in ROH on AEW TV. Irrespective of her status with the promotions, was happy for these last-minute appearances. In the WWE, her last appearance came at Summerslam 2023.
