Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler have become your new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions during the latest episode of Monday Night Raw. Following Wrestlemania 39, Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez were going strong as the reigning champions. However, an unfortunate injury took Morgan out of commission which was the sole reason that a new championship match had to be planned on the post-Night of Champions episode of Raw.
As per the confirmations from the official website of WWE heading into Raw, the teams of Bayley & IYO SKY, Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler, Sonya Deville & Chelsea Green, and brand new pair of Raquel Rodriguez & Shotzi were inserted into Fatal-4-Way match to be contested over the vacant titles on the red brand.

The former champion Raquel was going strong in the match, looking forward to reclaiming the title that she never lost in the first place. However, it was her partner who ended up digesting the submission loss in the match to crown new champions.
In the finishing sequence, Raquel Rodriguez’s newest tag partner, Shotzi was bringing offensive moves while Baszler managed to distract the Raquel. Ronda Rousey eventually countered Shotzi’s offenses in the ring and proceeded to lock in her pendant armbar submission, forcing her to tap out, immediately.

With that, The Baddest Woman on the Planet began her maiden tag team title run. Her tag team partner, however, had captured those belts twice, previously in her career with Nia Jax. Baszler has thus now tied herself with Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Nikki Cross, and Sasha Banks for the most reigns with the tag titles.
While Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler became the champions this week, the actual plans called for the pair to win those titles long ago. In December, the first interest was expressed from their side to become a Tag Team Champion. Quickly, WWE had the duo set up for a title run that was supposed to begin at the grandest stage of Wrestlemania 39.
But plans had to be scrapped after Ronda Rousey reaggravated one of her arm injuries. As a result, WWE had to go with a Women’s Wrestlemania Showcase match while the team of Becky Lynch and Lita got to enjoy an unexpected title run.
